Last nights Building Designers Association of Victoria (BDAV) Awards went off extremely well and MC James O’Loghlin did a great job getting through the many awards in an entertaining and timely manner. The annual awards showcased some fantastic homes and SME commercial spaces, all with a high level of sustainability and energy efficiency about them. It’s great to see that efficient sustainable design is becoming the norm in both new, and renovations in the built environment.
The big winner of the evening was Wilson id for their Rose of South Yarra project who took out Building Design of the Year and 8 other awards.
Our congratulations go out to all the winners this year for a job well done. We’d especially like to congratulate 2 great designers who are on our listings, Maxa Design (for the Nunawading project) and Lifehouse Design (for Campbells Creek House) – both highly sustainable and efficient homes that are very worthy of their awards. Well done.
The 10 Star Challenge winner was MichSquared Design for the single dwelling, and Melbourne Design Studios for their multi residential project, with a commendation to Armsby Architects. We hope the conceptual designs for these 10 star homes becomes a reality in the not too distant future. Congratulations to Michael, Marc and John on projects very well done.
Winners in other categories included Apex Building Design Studio, Clever Design, Altereco, Vibe Design Group, Rachcoff Vella Architecture, EME Design, EM Building Design, First Impressions Projects, Dig Design and Guy Blancato. Congratulations to all of you on a well deserved win.
We look forward to next years awards from the BDAV and are keeping an eye out for others that appreciate and award sustainable, efficient building design which really is the future of the built environment.
