By finding out what your appliances cost to run, or if that old beer fridge in the garage is pushing up your bills, you’ll be able to see where your energy is really going so you can do something about it.

We offer three levels of energy assessments, all onsite at your property, conducted by a fully qualified assessor. We can also tailor an assessment or service just for your needs.

Standard energy audit

This is our most common audit, giving you an overview of your home's energy use, identifying key problem areas and providing you with a list of prioritised actions and quick wins to reduce your energy costs. It includes

1.5 – 2.5 hours onsite assessment and data collection
A review of your recent energy bills (ideally 12 months’ worth)
A review of your home appliances and how often they are used
Quantification of your energy use and bill reconciliation
Identification of key problem areas
Quick wins you can achieve
Discussion of options you have to reduce your energy usage and how you can improve comfort in your home
A summary report will follow after the assessor leaves your home, with our findings and recommendations, along with a prioritised list of actions
Our availability to answer any further queries by phone or email

Fee: $490 including GST

This service can also be combined with a Home energy efficiency assessment (Scorecard) if required.

Energy audit and Scorecard rating

Get more detailed information with this Energy Audit carried out by our qualified assessor onsite. Find out how much power each of your appliances uses, identify what can be done and how much you can save by implementing our recommendations. Inclusions

Power usage measurements of key appliances if needed (eg. by putting a power meter on the refrigerator)

Checking heating and cooling systems, looking for sources of drafts
Consolidation and analysis of data collected (completed offsite after assessment)
Identification and quantification of the main sources of energy usage in your home (offsite after assessment)
Determination of appropriate recommendations
A prioritised list of actions for you to implement in your own time
Cost-benefit analysis showing payback periods
Completed report (by email)

Energy audit including Scorecard rating and detailed home sustainability assessment

This comprehensive assessment, carried out by a fully qualified assessor onsite, includes a standard Energy Audit and an energy efficiency Scorecard rating. This assessment tells you how you can really make a difference, not just to those utility bills but also to the environment. It includes everything in the standard energy audit above, and the efficiency Scorecard rating as well as

Up to 4-hour onsite assessment for data collection
Review of your most recent energy bills (ideally, 12 months’ worth)
Analysis of interval metering data (will need to access this information)
Review of your home appliances and how often they are used
Power usage measurements of several key appliances (eg. by putting a power meter on the refrigerator)
Checking the water usage of taps, washing machine etc
Discussion of any problem areas
Discussion of options to reduce energy usage and how to improve comfort
Checking out your rubbish bins
Looking at your gardens, and discussing watering
Discussing options and alternatives in line with your preferences
After our assessor leaves, we consolidate and analyse the data collected
Identify and quantify the main sources of energy and water usage in your home
Identify and quantify the types of waste created in your home
Review gardening and lifestyle options for you and your family
Determine appropriate recommendations for all areas
Create a prioritised list of actions for you to take forward in your own time
Cost-benefit analysis showing you payback periods of any capital purchases that we recommend
Scorecard rating (with relevant simulations to quantify recommendations and measure the impact)

Danielle and Green Moves provided a full energy audit report and “Victorian Residential Energy Scorecard” for my apartment. Danielle was very knowledgeable, professional and friendly throughout the process. The report Danielle provided was much more thorough than I expected and prioritised energy efficiency improvements based on the savings versus the upfront cost. Given various improvements possible, this was highly valuable and took the guesswork out of where to direct improvements. Further, the report detailed expected electricity use given the apartment’s appliances and highlighted a large portion of ‘unidentified usage’ that was tracked down to a secondary water heater that I was not previously aware of – switching this off has halved my electricity usage!!

On the day of the assessment you advised us that our oil heaters in the kids room and our oven were using the bulk of our energy. You suggested we replace the heaters with 400w panel heaters and that we should consider a convection microwave. We did both of those things and didn’t have to spend a fortune either. Got the heater on sale for $30 each and got a convection microwave for under $200. Our average energy usage per day has now dropped from 47.72kwh this time last year to 29.17kwh. We are very thankful for the advice you gave us.
