Home → Sustainable homes → Sustainable real estate
Real estate agents are increasingly being asked by homeowners to promote the efficiency features of their homes. With the cost of living increasing and climate change causing extreme weather events, the efficiency features of a home are one of the top five things buyers and renters now look for.
It’s important to provide this information so that it’s easy for buyers and renters to understand and be deemed trustworthy. Wherever you are, the Government’s Residential Efficiency Scorecard is the best option.
Green Moves have partnered with real estate agents and homeowners selling and renting, helping promote the efficiency aspects of a home. As sustainability consulting experts, we can guide and advise real estate agents and homeowners to help maximise the value of their homes.
We’ll work with you and your team to help identify homes that would rate well in a Scorecard assessment.
Green Moves are government-accredited assessors who can assess the home and give you a Scorecard rating that can be included in the marketing materials for the home. We can also provide information on marketing opportunities.
A Scorecard rating that you can use to promote the home in its marketing materials. You’ll also get media and imagery associated with the rating.
The cost will vary depending on the size of the home. Contact us to discuss fees but expect between $250-$350 per rating.
If a home you’re selling has sustainable features, a Scorecard efficiency rating can be a potent sales tool. Watch the case study video below showing how Barry and Val sold their 1980s house in regional Victoria in just three weeks. They think it’s because of their home’s 8-star Scorecard energy efficiency rating.
Scorecard helps your buyers see the value in homes with efficiency features so they can make more informed decisions. By objectively showing the efficiency features and benefits, along with a trusted rating, buyers and renters will know exactly what they’re getting.

We are leaders in building high performances houses in Australia, based in Wodonga and have worked with Danielle and Green Moves to help us maximise the sustainability and energy efficiency of the new homes we build.
We’ve found her expertise and experience highly valuable and she has a helpful, practical and realistic approach. She has certainly added value to our developments and readily shares her knowledge. Collaborating with Danielle has also helped us to achieve a 10 Star Scorecard rating for the new homes in our recent development (a first for new build homes in Victoria) and helped us promote it.
Her commitment and professionalism have truly helped us achieve the level we are working at. She has had a direct influence on us leading the market.

Danielle is unique in her credentials. It is rare to get someone from an academic background and industry who has cumulated years of knowledge in informing and marketing green housing, design, architecture, and assessment of green criteria within retail and sales. Even more rare that Danielle is able to do this with passion and a great capacity to communicate. After meeting with Danielle, I felt inspired. Not only does she provide a great service but she is contributing as an educator in this new green industry.
